A question about timing?
Posted by Emmet Reddy on April 14, 2008 at 9:04 amHi Im relatively new to c4d and I have a question about timing. In c4d i have a 3d text scene which i track a camera into which is one project then i have an explosion scene in another project what i want to do is merge the explosion scene with the text scene but i want the explosion to happen at the end of the text scene but it always happens at the start how can i get it to happen at the end. e.g. can i move elements about like in a non linear editing timeline?

April 14, 2008 at 9:14 amPretty much yes. Your explosion has keyframes …just move them later in the timeline.
I would right click on the explosion in the object manager (default top right) and choose “show tracks” then move the keyframes to where you want them.

April 14, 2008 at 11:56 amIs your explosion animated? or does it just break a apart your text and not change over time?
If its animated there are key frames. If it just breaks your object up you need to animate it.If you click on the Explosion object then look in the attribute manager (default bottom right) in the Object tab there is a Time percentage. Mine defualts to 10% 0 puts your object back together…100 blows everything long gone.
Right click on the little circle to the left of the word time.
You can then see show track, or add key frames.
The little circle will be red if it already has a keyframe./randy

April 15, 2008 at 9:19 amThe in and out points are in the Bottom NULL Object.
Double click the expresso tag and when you hightlight the “ACTION TIMER”
Under all the coffee code it says: Start time and under that end time…those are your controls./randy
