Im making a playing card with two PSD layers. One for the face of the card, and one for the pattern on the back.

I placed them in the comp, clicked 3D to both, parented one to the other, and raised one a single pixel from the other so that if i flip the card, i will not see the same pattern on both sides.

However, when i rotate the card, one layer flickers with the other! Is this a glitch? I can’t think of why it would do this, so i can’t think of a solution.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Maybe there is a better way of making one layer have a different reverse surface? There must be a way!

    Thanks!

I get this same problem. The only way I seem to be able to get around it, is to separate the layers by more than one pixel. I have tried to use different advanced 3-D setting without much help. I have also noticed the problem does not show up when I am working in less than full resolution. The problem becomes visible when I set the comp to full res. I will be watching this thread to see what the answer is.

One solution is to make the side of the card facing away from the camera invisible, try this solution by Dan Ebberts:
