A Play-Back Deck for Sony & Cannon mini HDV?
Hi,
I’ll be editing a show from Sony Z1u footage and Cannon A1 footage. Both shot in HDV. Do I need a deck that is compatible with both tapes?
(I’ll be down converting from HDV to SD from deck to hard-drives)

The Canon footage will work in Sony decks if you shoot 60i. The other frame rates won’t work.

The Sony M35 deck will play back the progressive Canon HDV footage.

Hi,
The Sony GVH-D700 will do this. I use it with a Canon HV 30 and Sony A1u and downconvert it to SD capturing with fcp.“life on Guam is great..except for typhoons!”
