This links to a 1920x1080i LCD monitor by Sceptre (not a big name brand) that is also capable of handling 1080p picture.
I ordered it 3 days ago and didn’t expect to receive it for 10-15 days. Much to my surprise, UPS delivered it this morning and it’s a pretty cool so far. Obviously, it’s not a broadcast NTSC monitor, however, the price is 1700 after taxes, rebates, etc, which is freakin’ great for an LCD that displaces such a high resolution. This baby is huge.
As far as the quality of the vid is concerned, digibeta and Kona2 componant sources look great. HDV footage out of the Kona2 looks awesome, but I have noticed weird color pixel issues around some objects – only on the HDV footage. DISH network stuff looks ok, I don’t have Dish HD so I’m somewhat limited in HD quality sources. I think I have some 720p DVCProHD stuff I can check out….
Anyways, more legitimate reviews exist online by more qualified sources than me, but Costco stops selling this on 1/2/06 (I believe) so if you’re on the fence you might wanna get on it.
Happy New Year, fellow cows!
