A more basic Edit Decision List
I’ve been using Vegas since version 4 so I’m surprised this has never come up, but I’ve never once needed to do an edit decision list before and have been looking into it. What I have is 7 hours of timecode window burn footage that someone with no technical experience needs to view and just send me an e-mail or simple text document with the times they want. I looked at a few example .edl files and they were massive spreadsheets that aren’t going to be possible for this person to work with. What I’m wondering is if there’s an alternate format or even a Vegas script that can take a text file with just simple timecodes and either cut those times or just bump them up to a different track on the timeline so I can more easily move them around.
It’s quite possible they could come back with 10 clips that I could just pick out manually, but on the off chance they’ve got a hundred clips from this thing, I just thought I’d ask if there’s an automated process you all might know of. Thanks for any ideas.
