    hi experts!
a few months ago i came across an excellent tutorial on the web, for bringing out details in the shadows and highlights of a photo. now i can’t find it anywhere. sob sob….
i remember it involved duplicating the layer, blurring it, and changing its’ blending mode. it worked wonders!!!! but no matter how much i play around with it now i can’t get the same effect.
does anyone know what i’m talking about?
other things i remember is that the example photo was of a fallen tree with all the roots exposed, and that if you didn’t get the desired result you could duplicate it again….
    many thanx,
    d
