June 26, 2011 at 4:05 pm..thinking over this, I’m wrong. I have worked on a show corrected in Apple Color and some jobs simply within FCP. But looking back, even Color was an extension of FCP, not included within the software itself. The way I see it, the new Color simply hasn’t been released yet. I can’t wait to see the App store pop up will all sorts of gizmos and plugins, think about the ones you could possible design yourself?

June 26, 2011 at 4:23 pm[Josh Gross] ” the new Color simply hasn’t been released yet. “
It would be so great if you were right about this but I do seem to have read in the Apple literature and elsewhere that Color and Soundtrack Pro have been folded into FCPX and hence by implication won’t exist as separate apps. I do hope I read that wrong though!

June 26, 2011 at 4:31 pmTrue. I wasn’t very clear. I guess I was meant “Color” in they sense that other developers will make new iterations of the application (not ness. Apple). It obviously leaves a void that would need to be filled for some and I do see Red Giant has already announced support.. I hope we just don’t only see “Magic Bullet 2” out of some of these developers.

June 26, 2011 at 5:00 pm..God I’ve eaten a bowl of stupid this morning. Red Giant is awesome. I blame my bitterness to the lingering shock from the release. Can’t wait to see where everyone takes it!

June 26, 2011 at 6:25 pmAirPlay I’m pretty sure, relies on the incoming video being h264 with a max bitrate of about 6mbs.
That *might* be ok for client viewing, but I don’t know if I’d want to edit with an image recompressed like that.
Also, there’s a bunch of lag with it. Like almost a half second.

June 26, 2011 at 10:14 pmOh gosh no, certainly not for live editing. However, it would be a much more elegant solution for screeners than running a 200 foot HDMI through the walls, roofs, carpets, etc.

June 27, 2011 at 1:17 amI thought you meant the screeners were the people in the waiting room. Neil Hurwitz`s ¨Fibre Optic Cables All Lengths¨, classifieds June 13 would be a world less expensive than 200 feet of HDMi cable.
Anyway your waiting room therefore just isn`t tacky enough unless you have an ipod playing your editing jammed between the jug and the glass of a DuMont Teleset playing the same.
