A Little “Audience Feedback”, If You Will.
2.5 years on the job as an editor-producer at a small startup shop [full production house, not a post house] that handles mostly corporate videos and small-scale TVCs… and starting out as a self-taught FCP editor [I will admit I am one of those non-AVID/film-savvy young editors who stepped into editing fresh out of university ;)] means I have semi-regular bouts of ‘Hey, how am I doing?’ with regards to my editing.
So, we’ve recently completed a three-TVC campaign for a local educational institution and I thought of garnering some audience feedback with them since it’s, IMHO, pretty decent. Where else better than a place where post pros gather?!
In all honestly, *I* am a crappy critic – I might only have opinions on something which is obviously stunning or terribly horrible [need to finetune my tastebuds a little] – I’ll probably never make it as a film reviewer, even an amateur one. So I’m really looking for any sorts of comments, suggestions, tips, gut instincts, cautions, pointers etc.
The editing and grading for these TVCs were done by me. The text was done up by a motion graphics artist – all I did was choose a nice portion of the frame for them.
The other two TVCs in the campaign can be seen here:
