A Flip camera that’s competitive with DSLR’s
Posted by Mark Suszko on March 30, 2010 at 1:55 pmThere’s a huge discussion going on in the Marketing forum about how much low end to mid-level video production is being stolen away from us because corporate clients are making their own videos using Flip Mino cameras. Now we can compete again…
Zacuto will have an intro party for this setup tomorrow:
Flip Megamax model 4110. The dual-system sound costs extra, and you have to re-erect the picture in post, but this according to all the PR experts on blogs is the new “Red Killer”.

No, no… Mark, you just add the Zacuto “ReOrientation Bracket Assembly” which solves the problem… I think Redrock has one in development, too. It just mounts the Flip upside down in the rig, and only adds a few more pounds.

March 30, 2010 at 3:09 pmYou know, I posted that joke in the Marketing forum days ago, and either those guys are just stingy with their humor, or it went right over them. Thanks for not leaving a brother hanging, Todd.

Mark,
I did see it then and thought it was funny. I was going to make a crack about you having too much fun in Photoshop, but then I got distracted by something else –maybe it was work… I hate it when that happens. And just to lay it on really thick; Mark, you are my all-time favorite Creative Cow poster. Sometimes I read threads just because you have posted in them. Your posts are amazingly insightful, detailed, unbelievably thorough and often downright brilliant. And that is no
joke. Thanks for all the time and energy you put into this community. I appreciate it.Jason Jenkins

I ask myself the same question on a regular basis and I always come up with the same answer; “I stink at selling myself!” Just not a good salesman. How about you?

That is the funniest thing I’ve seen this week. Do they make a rig for my GoPros?

April 1, 2010 at 3:29 pmI hate sales with a passion, but I think It is because I chose stability because I’m risk-averse, and I got that, 21 years worth, but I also really grew to love public service in a fundamental way, and I don’t know that I’d be as happy outside of it now. Though I’m willing to try it any time on a temporary freelance experimental basis in exchange for large sums of cash.
