    …from an old Avid guy.

Rough cutting several spots from DV material that was delivered on DVD. Used DVDtoDV to extract as Final Cut friendly movies. They play fine in the ‘source’ side monitor, but when placed on the timeline, they need to be rendered. What are the proper settngs that may allow these to be played on the timeline without rendering?

Is there a way to make the font size of the browser material larger?

Using a laptop system and would like to add another monitor to get more real estate? Suggestions on a flat panel that won’t break the bank? How do I set it up once I get it?

Make sure your timeline settings (sequence settings) match the settings of the clip. If the clip was extracted using DVDxDV, then the settings are DV/NTSC 29.97. Make sure the timeline settings match.

I WISH you could change the font and font size in the browser, but at this point, that isn’t a possibility.

I assume you have a Powerbook? that allows for an additional monitor that will “span” and not just mirror what you have on the laptop monitor. Get the Dell 2500 Wide Aspect 20″ Flat Panel monitor. $500. Sharp.

yes on the Powerbook. Anything with a smaller footprint that you would advise. My desk is mall enough as it is!
