a few newbie questions
ok…here’s a short introduction
i created a path in illustrator and imported it into cinema4D. then i created a cube(500m/1/m/12m) with 40 segments each axis and made it editable.
i want the cube (or ribbon) to grow along the spline (the path created in illustrator). so i used the “path deformer plugin) to attach the ribbon to the spline.
so the ribbon starts with a length of 1 and ends with a lengths of 2800m. because of the stretch of the ribbon it looked very edgy…so i subdivided it with a factor of 2. now it looks better…but if i go closer it still looks edgy and the rendering takes ages (dual g4 1Ghz 1gig ram).
heres a screenshot (top view) https://www2.students.fh-vorarlberg.ac.at/~fhe6833/test1.jpg
is there a easier(or less render intensive) way to create a ribbon which is growing along a path/spline…i thought about something like “extruding along path”.
thanks so much
florianaemm…if anybody is willing to help i could send the c4d-file!
