Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy A feature idea

I was playing with an AVI/mpeg2 file and I noticed that some times when I moved to a different spot of the clip I would also see, superimposed on the frame I was on was a frame from the next shot. I thought that odd, a kind of preview of what shot is coming up next. Then I thought what a great feature for FCP.

What if you moved the curser in the source timeline or the record timeline and rather then one image I saw a kind of multicam display of several frames before and after where I placed the play head? You could select how wide a swath of time the multicams represent and the amount of frames you saw as preview. I guess you could invoke this feature by holding down some additional key like the option/control etc. Perhaps you could also scroll the timeline and see smooth updates to each frame of the multiframe display.

These days, with the power of computers going up and the cost of storage going down people are starting to regularly dig 30 minute clips. Finding specific shots within such massive clips is a pain, maybe this idea would make finding that needle faster and easer within such big haystacks?

Then again, maybe this would just serve to cut down on overtime work, and from what I can tell that
