    Greetings AE Geniuses,

I’ve got a project that has a bunch of objects floating around connected by LINES. Using the beam effect tied to positions or the shape tool with expressions I have no problem connecting the objects as they move around.

BUT, now the client may not want lines, but curves. So instead of a straight line connecting the objects, I may need to do curves… Just a little bend in the lines so they swoop up. Dotted if possible.

Any idea how to do curves that could change length as the objects move?

    THANKS!

    Tom

Connect layers is really fun and easy to use. Watch the 9 minute tutorial on that link Todd shared and you’ll be set to rock and roll. Just make sure you use the rope script. It uses rotobezier lines to give the curve you’re looking for. Basically it connects points that you can of course animate. The lines are shape layers, from which you can of course create dotted lines 🙂 Victory on all accounts!
