A couple of questions
Hi All,
I cut a multicam music series last year with Vegas. For the most part I absolutely loved it, but there were was one thing that really bugged me. I couldn’t figure out a way to import one cut sequence into another (in a way that preserved the edits in the sequence I was importing). When I tried to import a sequence it wanted to render it as one clip. Is there a way round that, was I just missing a trick?
Other than that, I’ve got another couple of questions too.
1. On that occasion, we had to sync the camera’s manually; can Vegas automatically sync to t/c?
2. An upcoming show (8 camera music shoot) we’re shooting with PDW700’s (XDCamHD 4:2:2) I’d like to use the Proxy workflow within Vegas to off-line. Does Vegas 8.0 support this codec, or do I need a point release? Also, are the proxies sharp enough to check focus?
3. Once my off-line (on a notebook) is completed, I can just export edl’s and conform from full-res’ in another app, yes?
I know that’s an awful lot of questions, but after nearly 20 years using Avid I found Vegas really liberating in many ways; I’d like to use it a lot more, but point 1 is a major bone of contention (with our workflow, it’s pretty much a deal breaker)
thanks in advance
best
Angus
