    1) A while ago I saw a tutorial about using PI3 where a man was cloaked in flames that were created with particle illusion. Does anyone remember this and have the site url? I have a greenscreened actor, that I want to put splashes of rain on using this method.

    2) I am creating a scene with raindrops, but the scene is in profile, so all I need is the explosion of the drop as it hits the water, but from the side, so I don’t need to see the ripple circle or anything, just the jet of water shooting up. IS there an emitter for that?

    Thanks in advance!!!

I’m not sure of any tutorials online, but that subject is covered in the help file, in Tutorial 4, under the subject Area Emitter Masks.

Here’s an emitter that does the raindrop explosions. You may want to lower the Life of the Droplets particle type down to make it more realistic.

Thanks, but the file doesn’t seem to work for some reason. I am using PI 3.0

Nevermind I got it to work. I am fiddling around with the setting, but I want alot more particles in this scene and I changed the number to over 1000 but it doesn’t seem to increase the number.

Some emitters use special settings to determine how many particles are created.

    What emitter is it?

I am not sure, he just sent a file with it. See Elvis’s post for the file…
