In about 10 days I have put my new A1 through it’s paces. I have tried all three frame modes, and found an interesting thing in doing so that I did not see in the manual.

Each framerate has a different default shutter speed in the “A” auto mode. Who woulda thunk it?

60i is a 60th, 30F is a 30th and 24F is a 48th. Makes sense math-wise, but coming from a few years with a DVX 100 which has a shutter button, even in auto, this was a surprise to me.

One other little tidbit, My Azden shotgun was about a quarter inch smaller than the mic clamp, so I cut about 6″ of a 700c road bike tube and wrapped it around the barrel, little dab of crazy glue to hold it in place, fits like a freakin’ glove.

One other little thing, I find the default LCD settings way too bright for indoor work, but seems okay outside. Weird.
