A couple basic questions (keyboard shortcut)
I’m trying to learn Vegas and I have a couple questions:
What’s the keyboard shortcut for the “Selection Edit Tool”? I know CTRL+D takes me back to the “Normal Edit Tool”, but how can I quickly switch to the Selection Edit Tool? The problem is I have to change the tool every time I want to move a group of clips to a different area of the timeline.
Also, when I move a clip, I get a small horizontal blue arrow above the timeline that tells me how far forward or backwards I just moved the clip. What is the function of this? In Premiere Pro, something like that warns you that you’ve just make your clip out of sync by so many seconds/minutes.

From the “normal” edit tool, press “D” twice. Personally, I almost never have a need to switch from the “normal” tool – I use a script to select events if there’s more than a few to select.

It shows you how far things will be moved if you do a “post ripple edit”. Search for ripple editing in the help file.

I have a couple more questions:
– Is it possible to have audio play while scrubbing back and forth with the arrow keys? Or will it only play audio if I grab the top of the ‘cursor’ with the mouse and drag it?
– With regards to the cursor, if I hit stop during playback, it always returns to where I started playback. Is there an option to have the cursor stop on the point where I hit stop? This makes it easier to edit to audio if I can stop it right on the beat.

I second that question. It must be possible, it’s invaluable when cutting interviews.
