I was looking for a way to change the backup .veg file location, and couldn’t find one.
The manual just said that it saved a backup in the same folder as the original.

That seems a little scary for me, because if my hard drive fails (or becomes corrupted, and unreadable), my backup of my project is gone too.

That’s why when I edit on FCP I always change my autosave to an internal drive, in case my edit drive goes during the project.

anyone know if this is possible with Vegas?

If not, I’d make that a requested feature on the next update.

You might try my Auto Save custom command for Vegas Pro 8 which can save a series of backups in another folder as well as the same folder as the project.

    Ed –

Thanks for the offer, and the response. I might take you up on that. For right now I just have a shortcut to a folder on my internal drive right next to my .veg and .bak files that I manually dump copies to at the end of every session. I know, not the most elegant or automated; but works for now.

Still say it should be a feature in 9.
