10b3 has crashed a few times so I decided to go back to 9.1.6 for a while. I noticed a significant performance drop compared with 10b3. Is this expected? I don’t remember 9.1.6 being this slow.

When trying to play a grade that has about 12 nodes v9.1.6 struggles to get above 18fps, but 10b3 plays it perfectly at the timeline frame rate of 25fps. The timeline resolution is 2048×1080. The project consists of R3D files and was originally created in 9.1.5.

I performed the standard candle test on both 9.1.6 and 10b3 but this yielded the same result of 18.5fps @ 16 blur nodes for both versions of Resolve.

I am using the full version of Resolve. To perform the reinstall I just trashed the application package and re-installed 9.1.6. Do I need to uninstall 10b3 in a more thorough way?

Rohit, I am pretty sure the performance drop introduced with Mavericks has to do with the BMD drivers.
When I´m using the optical audio its just fine.
I am using the latest desktop video and its much better already, but still, it feels like the audio is waiting for the video or the other way round.
Even simple system sounds feature the same lag Resolve has from turning a control to seeing the change on screen.
Like its syncronised in a weird way.
But without the Decklink card using only Core audio the problem is gone.
I mean, the BMD Forum is full of reports like this..isnt it?

Then we just have to wait it to be ironed out i bet.
