Quick question. Does anyone know how to create the 8mm and 16mm look in Adobe Premiere? I have a bunch of footage that was shot on a Canon 7D and I’m trying to give it this look. Thanks in advance!

What does “8mm and 16mm look” mean to you? The “look” can vary a lot between film stocks, to say nothing of the formats themselves or the lenses and cameras they were shot with.

If you can show a frame of what you have and a frame of where you want to go with it, we can probably help better.

As a general start, I’d guess you’re probably thinking of at least some kind of film grain — do a web search for “film grain overlay.”

Filmconvert is a great, excellent program to get you started.

Then, add some scratches to taste.

Agreed – 16mm could mean anything from like Grand Bhudapest Hotel (looks incredible) to my freshman year NYU projects (very bad).
