8gb P2 card rebate confusion
I can’t seem to find one straight answer in writing about the dates of the free 8gb p2 card from panasonic.
on Panasonic.com/broadcast there is a link to the current promotion thought to end Dec 31st.
This says if purchased between Oct. 1, 2006 and March 31st, 2007Then you click on the claim form and it states between Jan 1, 2006 – Dec. 31st, 2006
And on B&H, where they still have the rebate info: between Oct. 1, 2006 and Dec. 31, 2006
I will be looking to purchase an HD camera in the next month or so and am curious if anyone has the correct information. This seems very disorganized and how can the dates be so screwed up?

The dates are not messed up, although some people do seem to get confused by it.
There are two special offers in play: one for people who bought between January 1, 2006 and September 30, 2006; and the other for people who bought on or after October 1, 2006.
For those who bought between 1/1/06 and 9/30/06, their special offer is a free copy of The HVX Book + CD.
For those who bought from 10/1/06 through 3/31/07, their special offer is the book/CD plus a free 8GB P2 card. The card got added to the offer for those bought starting in October, and is not offered to anyone who bought prior to 10/1.

It is confusing, but the rebate extends to March 31, 2007 from October.
If you are buying between now and then you’re fine.
