8.1 not opening any file formats
I’ve been using Vegas for years and I’ve just recently started having this issue. It doesn’t matter of I reinstall Vegas or reinstall Windows, eventually it starts happening again. Basically, I’m just trying to import a WMV file, but everytime I try to import it, whether I right click and open with > Vegas, or drag it into the project, or import it with file > import > media, it gives me an error:
Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files.
The file is an unsupported format.
File […] could not be opened.
This shouldn’t be happening, obviously WMV’s can be opened. I’ve tried this on multiple different video files from many different sources, even ones that I rendered out myself USING Vegas 8.1, no luck. I also tried importing MOV, MP4, and MPG files with no luck either. It appears that Vegas only wants to open up image files.
PLEASE help me!

I agree this should not be happening. I would completely uninstall and re-install Vegas Pro 8.1. Something is definitely not right.
