8 Channels of Digital Audio Out of I/O or Kona 2? Anyone?
Sorry to ask this again, but I’m trying to do 8 simultaneous channels of audio out. I’m wondering if anyone has done this. We have an I/O box and Kona 2 card hooked up and I’m having trouble getting 8 channels to be independent. It seems they want to mix down to a stereo pair. I went into sequence settings and set things to groups and put them all mono, but am still having no luck.
Anyone have any clues?

If you’ve done what Walter suggests, you then need to open your mixer (option-6) and click the little icon above the master output levels that looks like two speakers with their backs to each other. It’s the downmix button.

Thanks, guys. We got it working though the I/O channels 7&8 went to 5&6 and vice versa. Very strange…must be an internal bug because we were using all SDI…no settings to change. I did have all channels in FCP routed correctly…it would show 5-6 to 5-6 on FCP’s scopes and on our external scope it would show 7-8 and vice versa.
Got it working with the Kona3 perfectly, though, so we’re good to go.
