I need to see if anyone can answer a comparability issue. I am going to post where appropriate. I am doing video assist with Sony EX3 cameras. I was told that production isn’t getting downconverters. The EX3 will output at DV 10bit so I am told. I have a DMC 05 which is a proprietary rig that records only in DV. I can’t get any specifications, but is DV capped at 8 bit? Basically can I run a DV signal from this camera at 10 bit into a DV recorder? I don’t know if it can handle 10 bit or not. I thought DV NTSC standard was 8bit.

    Am I wrong
