    Hi

Is 8bit just a codec for sd?

I have a project edited in hdv 1080i that I want to export ready for dvd.

I exported to pro res hq which is fine, but as an alternative I tried 8bit.
The quicktime file I created however turned out to be 720 by 576 or whatever the sd pix ratio is.
Should I be using 10 bit for HD?

Why don’t you export a QT using current settings and bring that into Compressor (or whatever you use)? You don’t have to save it as something else first.
