7D Image Sequence as a timelapse in FCP7?
I have a series of images taken over a full night, from 6pm to 6am (1 still taken every 3 minutes). I am wanting to import them into final cut pro 7 as a timelapse and then use them in a SD sequence.
Do you know how I would go about doing this?
Would I need to batch compress them before?The images were taken with a Canon 7D and their current dimensions are 5184 × 3456.
Any help appreciated, thanks very much.

Yes.

No.
What you do is use Quicktime Pro to import the IMAGE SEQUENCE…and in there choose the frame rate and pixel dimensions you want to end up with. Then export from there into the codec of your choice.

Resize all stills to match SD sequence (PAL? NTSC? Anamorphic?). Don’t forget to make them 72 dpi. Launch FCP, in User Prefs set Still duration to 1 frame or use different duration that’s deemed to fit your artistic vision. Import Stills folder in FCP and drag and drop it in timeline. That’s it in a nut shell.

That’s a huge size.
Unless you need that to make pans and zooms, the smaller the still size, the best.
Reduce the stills as much as you can in Photoshop, and bring them to FC as PNG, TIFF or Targa, better than JPEG.

So I drag and drop the images indivigualy, how do I put it on the time line, one by 1, would take foreever or do I make a file using qtime pro , n then bring in the seq?
