I have a project setup in FCP at 1080P, ProRes shot on my Varicam-29.97. I captured 7D footage at 1080P at 30fps and am crashing FCP. What gives?

Are you mixing footages? Or are you saying that you are using your normal preset with the Varicam, but that it crashes with the 7D?

Are you converting your 7d clips to ProRes or just leaving them in their H.264 native. If you are leaving them as H.264, this will cause FCP to crash, and you’ll need to convert the footage to ProRes using Compressor or MPEGStreamclip.

Compressor will also crash if you try to convert a large number of files. MPStream Clip or other conversion software works better. You do need to convert these to ProRes as mentioned before.
