as that. always have.I should mention that not all 720P is a problem.
the image over all is fine, but when high frequency (shirt patterns)
or horizontal lines are in the image (house siding) you definitely
see aliasing and its much worse looking than the kona does
on down converting.those sliders for anti-alias and details at the bottom don’t improve the issue at all
when I tried them….made it worse. -

July 15, 2009 at 10:22 amI would suggest doing the best possibly quality down-conversion to an i-frame codec before encoding to MPEG-2 DVD
I find that mpeg encoders are generally stupid & will not incorporate any clever down conversion techniques prior too the actual mpeg encoding.
make your source media as close too your destination as possible before encoding, this applies to any highly compressed formats –
frame rate
frame size
pixel aspect
