    Hi All,

We are planning on mastering our 720p 24p project to the Sony HDCAM-SR. (SRW-5500)

I see that this particular deck records 720 59.94 or 1080.

I think we are going to choose 1080 but how do I set the decklink preferences properly?

    I am using
the Decklink HD Pro Dual Link.

And how do I go out of the card? Can I get the 4:4:4 output by going out RGB and turning the 4:4:4 preference on in the preferences panel?

I am still trying to grasp this whole HD format!

    Hi Michelle,

Is your 720p24 material Varicam or native 720p24?

From which make and model of camera or deck have you acquired this material, and through what kind of connection, eg Firewire or HD-SDI? Once I know the answers to these questions, I should be able to answer your questions.

    Hi Luke,

This project was shot on the Varicam in 72024p.

We digitized it in using I believe the Panasonic 1200A deck, but it could have been the 1700 I will have to look at the rental. It was over a year ago.

We went in through HD-SDI and the project has been edited using these parameters

Black Magic HDTV 720P Varicam-8Bit Easy Setup

    Compressor is Uncompressed 8 bit.

The playback on that easy setup is HDTV 720P 59.94 Hz-8bit but won’t I have to change that once I go to 1080 on the Sony deck?

    Thanks Luke!

    Hi Michelle,

Thank you for providing the history behind your video capture. I shall be talking with one of the engineers later today and believe they may be able to provide a workflow that should work for you.
