720p problem
We are using a KONA 2 card in a Dual 2.7 Mac running OS X 10.4 and FCP HD 5
We shoot all of our video in DVCPro HD with a Panasonic Varicam set to 720p 60 fps 59.94 hz NDF… We are then using the HDSDI output with embedded audio from a Panasonic 1200A Deck connected to your KONA 2 card to input for capture.
We have been using the KONA2 720p 59.54 DVCPro HD preset in FCP, and we have noticed that we are experiencing an Capture problem.

Let me see if I understand. You shot on an HD camera, then used an rs422 control deck attached to a kona 2 card to capture. Then you used the DVC Pro HD codec in the capture window settings. You logged your clips, and used batch capture to get them onto your hard drive. Am I with you so far? The clips should have then showed as being online. The editing should have gone ok, and you want to edit to tape. And you’re saying edit to tape won’t work? Which part of this process broke down?
Did you set your sequence to edit in HD? Sequence settings and capture settings can be different depending on what your doing.

This is the same issue I reported down below. This is an Apple issue that only affects 720p capture when using Quicktime 7.0 or 7.0.2. 7.0.1 fixed the issue, then 7.0.2 broke it again. If you’re working with 1080i, HD-SDI capture is fine, this only affects 720p.

Any resolution to this issue? Is it only on 720p material?
