I know I must be missing something basic.
This is my first time trying to edit with footage from 720p footage and the production company supplied data which I’m importing into my SD-sized project. Unfortunately it imports downconverted despite being able to confirm the size in QT player. Also “Format” info for clips tell me that they are 720p despite what I’m seeing on screen.
100% size = 480 tall at this point.
Whats happening and how can I fix it???

[Ben List] “which I’m importing into my SD-sized project”

Why are you working on them in an SD project if they are HD?

When you import the clips into the Browser, scroll to the right and see what it says about the compressor type and dimensions. it should say DVCPRO HD 720p60 as the compressor, and 960×720 as the dimensions.

You should be working in an HD timeline. Choose the DVCPRO HD 720P Easy Setup that matches the frame rate of the footage…create a new sequence and work in that sequence.
