I’m downloading some client MP4 videos. When I convert them in MPEG stream clip it’s telling me the unscaled size is 720 X 404. I’m editing this in a 720 X 480 sequence. I converted them to pro res 422 When I drop them into my sequence they don’t play. Get the yellow unrendered line. Can someone advise me here Thanks.

Open the clips with QT and have a look to the picture size (Cmd-I).

Set your RT for “Unlimited RT”.

    Yes. As david said.
The picture is 720×404 that means that has been converted to Square pixels to be properly displayed as 16×9 (Proper 16×9 would be 720×405, but the “405” is a bad number for compressing).
When you import the stuff to FC, check Squared pixels in the Browser.
