704×480 pixel aspect ratio is odd
Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this Forum.
I am running Sony Vegas Pro 8.0. I have a Panasonic SDR H-18 HDD camera that produces an MPEG-2 file that I’m importing into Vegas. I have my camera set on 16×9 widescreen format and the XP setting. XP is supposedly the highest quality file. I can’t find squat about the exact file specifications that are created for hte MPEG file though. (It’s frustrating!)
My problem is that when I choose the custom button, and have Vegas set the properties for the MPEG file, it sets the Pixel aspect ratio to 0.9091 (NTSC DV) which makes the picture seem distorted.
If I change this to 1.2121 (NTSC DV WIdescreen) it looks correct- but I’m still not sure the video is as CLEAR as it should be.
Can anyone give me some suggestions?
The field order is at Upper field first:
Frame rate: 29.970I’ve got the Motion Blur at Gaussian and have been messing with the pixel format a bit to see if it makes any difference.
Thanks!!
