Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy 64 bit kernel

I’m the curious type…..Autodesk has the new Mac Smoke demo out, I would love to have a look just out of professional curiosity, but the installer wants a restart, to activate the 64 bit Snow Leopard. What mayhem am I going to inflict on my money making FCP based MacPro if I do this?
    Thanks

Like all major system adjustments, clone your drive. If all hell breaks loose, swap to the drive pre Smoke install.

It shouldn’t make any difference to your user experience… maybe iPhoto will load faster? Probably use up more power too. If you go into activity monitor you’ll see that some apps now say they are 64bit. And in the unlikely event that it does go wrong just restart your machine with the keys ‘3’ and ‘2’ held down and you’re back in 32bit land.
