    Hey all,

I upgraded several systems to 6.2, only a couple of which I’m installing FCS6 on immediately. After installing and trying to capture on those machines still running FCP 5.1.4, we found that audio was not capturing correctly.

The BM presets (at least for 1080i 59.94 DVCPRO HD and for NTSC DV50) were corrupted. The QuickTime Audio Settings section of the Capture Preset Editor in the A/V Settings menu got mangled… In the menu, the Device setting was on Decklink Audio, which it should be, but the input default changed to Line In. Format therefore defaults to 44.1 k 24 bit 2 channel!

To correct the problem, you need to change the Device setting to none, then change back to Decklink Audio, and the change the input back to Decklink. This automatically sets the Format back to what it should be… 48k 24 bit 16 channel etc.

This problem occurred consistently across a wide variety of machines. dual 2.7 G5s, Quads and Intels.

No problem. Hopefully BMD is working this out for 6.3.

    Hi Keith,

Thanks for the heads up. Ive checked this out and it is indeed happening. What is going on is that Final Cut Pro is taking the sound inputs preferences from the OS X Sound preference pane. If you set the System Preferences > Sound to use DeckLink Audio, the Capture Presets will then be correct.

We will indeed address this in the next update.

    Hi guys,

Indeed i’ ve seen the issue as well.
We could monitor the audio in capture mode but
nothing would be recorded, under the clip settings
in the log and capture window you’d see only 2 audio tracks.
Changing the setting in the Audio System preference to BM,
then going back to the audio/video settings, selecting the 10 bit catpure preset would then allow you to select the Bm sdi audio input.
Before that the only option was,if i do remember well; built in input.

    Hope this helps.

I have the same issue after upgrading to Deckling Extreme 6.2 software.

As soon as you fix the audio issue in one of the capture presets e.g Blackmagic NTSC 8bit, they all revert to the correct setting.

However after a restart I noticed that the error had come back. This is a pretty annoying bug.
