I’m still running Final Cut Studio 1 (havn’t gotten #2 in the mail yet), I downloaded the 6.2 drivers for my Multibridge Pro and installed them on my MacPro 3ghz 5GB RAM. The upgrade seemed to go smoothly, until I opened a FCP document with SD Blackmagic RGB 10-bit sequences (created with the 6.1 drivers). I had to re-render all the sequences, which was time consuming but not a big deal, but when I tried to play it back through the Multibridge NTSC-out to my broadcast monitor FCP crashed. So I turned off playback on external devices, tried to play through the rendered sequence, and it crashed again. Also, the video looked really bad (aliasing problems). So I uninstalled 6.2, and re-installed 6.1, now everything works.

Do the 6.2 drivers only work with FCS2, or does 6.2 just have problems working with timelines created with 6.1?

    Thanks,

When I posted before, everything seemed to be working fine, but now even though I’ve gone back to the 6.1 drivers, playing back rendered SD timelines is dropping frames in FCP! Also, I’m encountering the same aliasing issues during playback. Tried to lower both video and audio compression, still dropping frames. Any idea what could be causing this?

Perhaps you need to re-render again with 6.1 to go back to the begining.
You think that the problem of the image is an aliassing issue, you sure is not an interlacing problem?

The alaising problem isn’t my main concern, it’s the dropped frames in SD timelines are preventing me from working on my project. Re-rendering with 6.1 made no difference.

And how is your system doing? Do you run Diskwarrior or Techtools?
Whenever i start to have that kind of problems, i start by reparing permissions and cleaning directories.
