After upgrading to a Canon C100mk2, I have run into a strange problem. When I shoot at the 28mbps 60p setting (the highest resolution) I use “create sequence from clip” feature to get a sequence and the footage plays back in slow motion.

I can create a sequence at 29.97 and footage plays fine on the timeline….when I double click the clip on the timeline it opens in preview and plays OK, but when I double click the clip from the bin, it is still slo mo there. I can edit, but it certainly makes for an awkward workflow. Has anyone run across this issue or know of something I can try to resolve it?

Here is a short video to demonstrate the workflow/issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XMAfY5zp4k&feature=youtu.be

    Thanks so much!!!!

Does sound like a bug with that particular format? As a work around, I would try doing a quick export to Prores (Right click > render and replace and choose Prores).

If that works, just throw all your footage in Adobe Media Encoder and do a render queue to prores.

I hadn’t thought of that, so thanks for that nugget of creativity. Unfortunately it behaved the exact same way. It has to be something in my machine and/or software. I may set up a new user account with nothing but PP/CC and see what happens.

From here on our, I guess I’ll have to shoot everything in 29.97 or 23.97 to avoid this issue. I can still use the 60p for specialty slo motion shots though, so things are not a total loss.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Worked it out!!!! It turns out my Matrox box was unable to handle 60P. As soon as I disabled it, bada bing, fixed.

    I appreciate your help!
