Tonight we shot a Pepsi web piece where the images were only properly exposed by flash bulbs from paparazzi cameras and enhanced with small 8k lightning strikes. Only a slight rim back light was used to edge any object or motion between the flashing. The camera was a new 900 Panasonic recording 720p at 60p to tape.

    My questions start with

    Has anyone shot 60p?
And how did they use it?

How will this transfer to 30p for web use?
I assume it will be slowed down by 50%

Given our objective here, were there any other solutions with the camera setup to insure edit control of the flashing.

    Thanks for your thoughts

We use 60p all the time. It will have a “live video” look like regular SD footage. Not really much you need to know except use a 720/60 preset. (well, actually it’s 59.94)

You want to capture it at 60 and then use the Frame Rate Converter to slow it down to 24 or 30.

You can export using Quicktime conversion to a 30 fps file and it will playback at the corect speed. It will just dump every other frame and you will be left with a 30p file.
