the camera we are using shoots at 24p. we forgot to switch it over to 24p (d’oh!) and accidentally we shot this piece of footage at 60i.

here’s the dillemma. we’re editing on an avid. we need the footage to be workable in a 29.97 timeline.

    SO.

i pulled up after effects and applied the magic bullet flagship to it.

    sweet.

BUT. in render settings, (1)do i export at 29.97 or 24p?
also, in the OUTPUT module i am chosing dvNTSC (0.9) and it gives me the option to select the codec (in the project window, the footage says SONY DV CODEC). (2)so should i render to that codec? and also, that codec asks me if i want to deinterlace. (3)should i turn it on or off? (4)is it already deinterlaced via magic bullet?

lastly, like i said, the footage needs to be workable in a 29.97 timeline in avid.

(5)if we shoot the rest of footage at 24p and capture at 29.97, will the two methods look similar enough?

thanks to whomever reads this and replies.

It depends on whether the 24p footage was shot 24p Native (actually 24 frames per second) or in 24p (24fps in 60i). As for Magic Bullet output, I would check the manual.
