I was asked to take a project and convert it to 24fps to achieve a “film look.” This is an old short film that was originally shot on DVCAM and now they want to add various treatments and color-correction to finally finish it…that includes a 24p look.

I remember reading that the new Cinema Tools has this capability. Is it true? Can I convert 60i to 24p in Cinema Tools? What about audio? I know Magic Bullet can do it, but I only have the MB Editor. I would rather not spend the money on the Suite if I don’t have to.

Any advice/guidance is appreciated. I did a test and it seem to work, but it was too fast and too good to be true. Am I right? Cinema Tools > Open Clip > Conform > 24 (23.98) > Clip Analysis… confirms 24fps.
No rendering???? Something should be missing…

    Thanks

The best way to do this is with Film Effects by http://www.nattress.com. $100 but worth it.

Yes, the MB suite could do this, but costs tons. And Cinema Tools isn’t designed for this.

I’m also with Shane on this one. Graeme’s stuff is the best.

Thanks… this gig will more than pay for the software. I’ll download it tonight. As much as I like Magic Bullet, Editors to Suite would be an unjustifiable cost right now.

Also renders the 24p much, much faster than MB too, and avoiding that trip to AE can save quality and time.
