Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy 6.0.3 to 6.0.4

We just updated our FCP systems from 6.0.3 to 6.0.4. I noticed that when we opened the FCP projects 6.0.3, this window did not come up “the file format of this project from an earlier version. Would you like to update this project file?” It usually does.

Then I said to myself “let me try save this project and open it on FCP 6.0.3?” And it did.

Is this a new feature of FCP, backward compatible?

    Thanks,

FCP is backwards compatible or not depending on other issues.

First if QT was upgraded along with it. I the case of 6.0.2 to 6.0.3 QT went to 7.5 I believe.

With the update to 6.0.4 I don’t think there was an update to QT so the program is backwards compatible.

The other thing that can effect the backwards compatibility is the changes to FCP to itself.

    Hope this helps a bit.
