I used AppZapper to get rid of FCP 6.0.2 being careful to turn off media drives and reinstalled 6.0. A project I had done in 6.1 opened just fine in 6.0. P2 material shows up and QT 7.3 is loaded and seems so far to work fine.

I don’t exactly remember what 6.1 did for us, but I don’t seem to be able to find it as a download. Do I really need it? At this point i’m gun shy so i think i’ll stay with what works, “lost renders and all” or was that 6.1?

Hope this helps any others in a tight deliverable situation

Lost renders have been happening since 6.0. 6.0.2 fixes it.

    Can you clone your drive?

What I would do if i were you is cone your drive, then rerun the updates on your clone and see if it works. If it doesn’t, then all that’s broken is your clone.

Sometimes reinstalling fixes weird stuff, especially since it’s working now.

Bummer man. Sorry for all these troubles.

    Jeremy,

Good thought. I’m on it right now. What this tells me is that QT7.3 works okay by itself and with 6.0 so it must be the way 7.3 and 6.02 don’t play well together.

    Thanks for the thoughts,

[Peter Sassi] “so it must be the way 7.3 and 6.02 don’t play well together. “

That’s what I am thinking, although it might have been on the install and not the software combo itself since some people can get it work. Since you have taken the time to go this far, and it’s working with this particular combo of versions, I’d update the clone and cross your fingers. If it doesn’t work, your main system is fine and you can rebuild your clone when you get a chance.
