60 FPS footage brought into a 30FPS project
Seem to be having a hard time finding the answer to my problem. Looked through the forums already, so don’t waste your time typing to tell me to go search for the answer, just type an answer please if you know it.
We’re trying to bring footage that was shot at 60fps into our project which is 30 fps. We expected that 1 second of footage@60fps would span out and become 2 seconds of footage in our 30fps file but it doesn’t seem to be the case.
What happens is it changes the 60fps into 30fps, and our 1 second shot remains 1 second.Thanks.

What format did you shoot?
One second of video is one second of video. If you bring a 60fps shot into a 30fps project and drop it into the timeline, you will have to render it and what will happen is that 30 frames will be discarded.
If you shot DVCPRO HD 60p, and you want it to be in a 30P project and slow motion…the 1 second expanded to 2 seconds, then you need to use the DVCPRO HD Framerate Converter. That is a separate install in the FCP install disk EXTRAS folder.
