I am working on a feature film and i need to make a long credit roll, i have 16 pages of text that have to play for about 6 to 8 minutes, i have done this before by dividing the text in 3 or 4 text crawls and then making it work by adding text and taking text away from each part, but this is really time consuming and i am sure there is a better less painful way, i have FCP studio 2 and after effects, maybe motion or live type can handle this better, I also have the list on an excel file and was wondering if anybody knows if i have to copy paste by hand each name or I can some how import this file to Af or motion.

    thanks for your time,

    Adrian

Why divide it up? Make one long tile roll using Title Crawl. Make it’s duration 16 minutes before you edit it into the timeline.

AFAIK you can’t import an Excel file. You can import an RTF doc into Title Crawl, but the text will probably need quite a bit of massing for formatting once it’s there.

    All the best,
