I have a problem with the standard way of working with the 5D Mark II footage. We shot some clips with the Beachtek device which allows you to put xlr mics directly into the camera thus recording sound to the card. I had a boom in one channel and a lav in the other. As we were shooting, I was checking the clips in FCp to make sure the lav was good and I could hear the difference between them markedly.

So now I have converted all my h.264 .mov’s from the camera into Apple’s Pro Res 422 codec as instructed but the audio is now linked and the 2 audio tracks are identical. This may be more of a compressor question (I don’t know that much about compressor) but can anyone help me figure out why the audio should have become locked like this? I have to get this project finished up, any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
