  5D into ? into MacBook Pro for picture and waveform monitoring?

  This may not be best idea but i thought I’d see if anyone has tried it.

  I’ve been shooting sit down interviews on a 5D and we’ve had a Panasonic 17″ monitor to review picture and waveforms.

  Is there a way to substitute a 17″ Macbook Pro using Scopebox or OnLocation for the Panasonic? (We cart the 17″ MBP around anyways.)

  If one were to take the HDMI out into Matrox Mini into the MBP, would that work? Does the Mini handle the switch to SD when when the 5D starts recording?

  Thanks for any thoughts.
