59.97 Footage imports 23.98 from AE
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I wasn’t sure where to post this. I don’t know if this an AE issue for a FCS issue.
We have hired a new editor recently who regularly works with AE to create really cool looking FX. We then import his QT exports into FCP and cut into our DVCPro 720p60 timeline. When we import the QT’s they show up as 23.98 instead of 59.94. The clip length is still the same the frame rate is just off. So we end up missing the back half of the clip. Now if I double the length of the clip we can see the whole shot but at the wrong frame rate.
I opened the clips in QT and they played properly and the frame rate showed 59.94. But for some reason when I import the clips into FCP they are not being read properly. I checked my settings in AE and everything looks correct. As a work around I sent the clips thru Compressor and used the DVCPro HD 720p60 setting. Now when I import them they read as 59.94. The native footage that we are using in AE is shot on an HVX200 using the DVCPro HD 720p60 setting. I am trying to stay native all the way thru the process.
We are just made the change from CS3 to CS4 and are using almost all the latest updates as I did a clean install of all applications last week
