    Hello,

I hope I am posting on the right forum for this question. I have a GH2- I recently shot the variable movie mode ACVHD 720p. Please understand I am new to dealing with differing frame rates (used to shoot simple videos, SD, 30p on a DVX100). I used Voltaic to transfer the MTS file to QT (I am still using FCP 6). The resulting file is at 59.94 fps. Now- I was told that the 720p option was 30p “wrapped” in 60i, and that I had to use Cinema Tools to unwrap the file. Not sure if that is correct- but my question is- I want to conform this 59.94 file to 30 p, but I don’t want to get a slow-motion file (which is what has happened so far in my trials on Cinema Tools). Is this possible using Cinema Tools? If so, please tell me now.

    Thank you.

    No, that’s not correct.
The PANAs has video time-bases. Nothing to conform.
    720 p60 is 59,94.

[Smith Glover] ” want to conform this 59.94 file to 30 p,”
There is no way to conform 59,94 stuff to p30 (p29,98) without slow motion.
Conforming is all about making the file to play at a different speed than the original.
If you want to treat that file as p29,98, there is no problem.
That will work OK in any 29,98 sequence, just will skip half of the frames.
