    Good Morning All

    We have got a MacPro 3.0 / 4GB/ x1900 / Kona3 and just updated 5.1.2. In Log and Capture window, the video frame rate seems to be a little off. It plays smooth in the NTSC monitor but in the window in FCP its jaggy and a little sluggish. Anyone else notice that? Any ideas?
    Haven’t done anything yet other than re-starts, thought I share the info here to see if anyone else notice that.
    Thanks
    Best Regards

    Forgot to mention;
    The new firmware is in place, running Medea Fibre as Media Capture and all slot order for Kona3 seems to be correct (as per AJA). 5.1.1 was flawless after the Kona 3.1 update. Just noticed after the 5.1.2
    Thanks

    Once the media is captured, does it playback correctly?

    You can’t use the log and capture window as a judge to the quality of your media as it is only a low rez representative of the media coming in. You need an NTSC monitor that, which you have so use it.

    Absolutely. FCP purposely degrades the image quality in the Viewer / Canvas / L&C windows because you’re expected to use an external monitor for all video playback. Video playback should be smooth in your external monitor during all video playback operations including Log and Capture.

    Thanks Guys!
    Hmmm.. That is understood but previous 5.1.1 played the Log/Capture video a lot smoother than this one. Same Hardware!
    Thought I ask anyways
