    Two questions about 5.1.

Also, I just need a check of my settings. If given a professionally mastered 5.1 mix with 6 stems, the audio tab tends to default 6 channels of dual mono to -3 db. Is this a correct level setting for 5.1 layoffs? Or should it be 0 db?

I’m sending the mix to an HDCAMSR. Is there a way to have FCP do a downmix of those to a Lt / Rt, if I wanted to do a second layoff pass?

I’ve posted this in the Aja forum as well.

    Thanks

    Anne

Making the Lt/Rt is not that simple. The mix house should have given you an Lt/Rt at the same time as the 5.1 mix.

That’s what I’ve been told by many sound designers. What do you think of this method?

I saw Warren’s post in the other forum. I’ve never tried that, myself, didn’t know it was supported. I’d take Warren up on suggestion that you call him, though.
